What are automatic watches?
Automatic watches are mechanical watches that draw energy from the movement of the wearer's wrist. They don't need a battery because they excite themselves with this movement. A rotating part inside the watch, the rotor, converts wrist movements into energy, which winds the watch's spring and keeps it moving. If an automatic watch is not worn, it may stop running, but it can easily be restarted by movement or manual winding. Automatic watches are loved for their craftsmanship and durability.
What are mechanical watches?
Mechanical watches are timepieces that function through a complex system of gears and springs. They don't need a battery. There are two types of mechanical watches: manual winding watches and automatic watches. Manual-wound mechanical watches require regular hand-winding by turning the crown, while automatic watches draw energy from the movement of the wearer's wrist. Both types use a winding spring that stores energy when wound. This energy is gradually released to move the gears, which in turn drive the hands of the watch. Mechanical watches are known for their craftsmanship, durability and aesthetic appeal.
What are Quartz watches?
Quartz watches are watches that use a quartz crystal for time measurement. They run on a battery that sends an electric current through the quartz crystal. This crystal then vibrates at a very stable frequency, which ensures accurate timekeeping. These vibrations are converted into electrical pulses that drive the watch's motor, moving the hands or controlling a digital display. Quartz watches are known for their high accuracy, reliability and relatively low cost compared to mechanical watches. They require little maintenance other than periodically replacing the battery.
